"No two days are the same."

Working at the sanctuary offers a raw, hands-on look at the true pace of African conservation, where no two days are the same. This experience is not for the faint-hearted; the combination of physical labor, long hours, and a challenging climate makes the work demanding yet deeply rewarding. We are looking for resilient individuals who can navigate the lack of modern luxuries and adapt to the forest's unpredictable needs—finding excitement in the grit and heart of our mission.

The ideal volunteer

Our team seeks individuals who are hardworking, flexible, and capable of thriving on complex challenges. Because we prioritize the health of our residents, exceptional hygiene and meticulous attention to detail are mandatory for all animal care tasks. You must possess a strong team spirit to work effectively alongside our local staff and be comfortable communicating fluently in English. We value a self-starting mindset where you consistently identify and execute necessary tasks without direct supervision. Finally, it is essential that you maintain a positive and enthusiastic representation of the sanctuary in every interaction.

Your tasks:

Clinical Care: Manage recovery and wound care for 170+ residents.

Surrogacy: Provide intensive care for orphaned infant primates.

Species Management: Apply husbandry for 80+ diverse species.

Rehabilitation: Minimize interaction to ensure successful wild reintroduction.

Operational Support: Assist the Director with daily management and tasks.

Field Work: Join and facilitate animal releases.
